  1. Version 0.1.0Latest

    The first release

    The first public version of Nations Reborn: a real-time strategy game from the Ancient Age to the Information Age, for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux.

    New

    • 32 nations, each with a national power and unique units in their own historical dress.
    • Eight ages: Ancient, Classical, Medieval, Gunpowder, Enlightenment, Industrial, Modern and Information. Gather food, timber, metal, oil, wealth and knowledge, grow cities, research, and build wonders.
    • Win by conquest, by territory or by wonders.
    • Skirmishes against computer players (Easy, Moderate, Hard and Expert) on six kinds of map (Continental, Lakes, Highlands, Mediterranean, World and Archipelago), from Tiny to Gigantic, with up to 24 players.
    • Online multiplayer.
    • Battles fought as each age fought them:
      • line infantry fires in volleys and charges with the bayonet;
      • cavalry charges, and pikes and shield walls stand against it;
      • machine guns pin troops down;
      • soldiers near a fight join in.
    • War at sea:
      • galleys ram;
      • ships of the line turn their side to the enemy and fire their broadsides;
      • battleships range in with salvos;
      • destroyers drop depth charges;
      • submarines fire torpedoes.
    • Diplomacy and trade, governments and the Senate, and missiles and nuclear weapons in the late ages.
    • Rebellions: unhappy people rise up, hide in camps, break away as new nations and may join a neighbour. Faiths and state religions.
    • Single player works without an internet connection. A skirmish saves itself as you play, and Continue on the main menu picks it up again, even after an update.
    • The game tells you when a new version is out, and what is in it.
    • Graphics settings from Low to Ultra; the game picks one to suit your computer the first time it starts.
    • You choose whether to share anonymous usage data. Nothing is shared unless you agree.
